Independence Day Movie Explained
The film begins with the Moon being shown where, in 1969, mankind first planted its flag on the Moon and left a message on a stone for the aliens, offering peace on behalf of all mankind. Immediately, the astronauts’ footprints are shown on the Moon. Suddenly, a movement begins, and the Moon’s surface begins to subside. Suddenly, a dark shadow covers the entire Moon and turns towards Earth. This shadow is of a giant alien spaceship, spanning a distance of 550 kilometers and weighing one-fourth of the Moon. The alien ship begins to rapidly approach Earth. Meanwhile, scientists at a space station in New Mexico receive a strange signal from space, which greatly encourages them. After examining the signal, they discover that the signal is coming from a large object located 375,000 kilometers from Earth, near the Moon. All scientists are racking their brains trying to decode the signal. Even the scientists at the US Space Command are unable to decode it. They begin to speculate that the massive object could be a planet, but the planet’s movement, instead of moving straight ahead, repeatedly stabilizes. This convinces the scientists that it’s not a planet, but an alien planet rapidly moving towards Earth. Considering the seriousness of the matter, security officials relay this news to the President at the White House, after which a meeting of the President’s security officials is held. At that time, they also speculate that it’s just a planet that will pass through Earth. But then some military officers arrive and, by showing them satellite images, confirm that there is an alien mothership in space that has come to rest in Earth’s orbit. Not only that, but 36 massive alien ships have also emerged from the mothership, each of which is over 15 kilometers wide and can enter Earth’s atmosphere within 25 minutes. This news gives goosebumps to all the officials. At this time the President issues DEFCON 3 alert which is a war warning for the US security forces. In this city, David, a satellite technician of a cable TV company, gets the news of disruptions in cable TV broadcasting. After which David comes to know that these disruptions are happening due to the signals sent to them by aliens. Those signals are getting connected to their satellite and hence, the disruptions in broadcasting are occurring. Technology expert David converts those signals into binary sequence and starts trying to understand it. Meanwhile, we see that today’s clouds are visible in different countries of the entire earth.
Then, in a few moments, giant alien ships emerge from the clouds of darkness, one by one, and come to rest over the large lions of the country. Seeing them, the common citizens of the country panic out of fear. Seeing the giant alien Shiv, the eyes of the President and all the security officers widen. The security officers start talking about taking the President to a safe place, but the President was not one to leave his countrymen in trouble and hide. For the safety of the people of his city, he instructs them to leave the city peacefully and go to a safe place. Unaware of this danger, in this city, the story of Steve, the captain of the American force, is sleeping peacefully with his girlfriend Jasmine. Jasmine was a club dancer and a childless mother. Despite this, Steve loved Jasmine very much and was about to marry her soon. But when Steve and Jasmine went out to look, they felt an earthquake-like tremor in their home that morning. Their mouths dropped open at the sight of the alien Shiv hovering over their city. Although, both Steve and Jasmine were somewhat surprised. He was on leave from the U.S., but seeing the threat looming over his country, he agrees to return to duty. He promises his girlfriend that he will definitely come to pick her up once everything is settled. With this promise, he returns to the Air Force base. Meanwhile, David decodes a signal from the aliens, discovering that the aliens are using their own satellite to send signals to their ships every six hours, positioning them one by one. Once all their ships are in position, the aliens will launch an attack on humans. The attack is now only six hours away. After discovering this, David tells all his colleagues to get away from the city and immediately evacuates himself. David goes straight to his father, Julian, but he doesn’t leave the city with him. Instead, he takes his father straight to the White House. David’s ex-wife, Connie, is the White House’s communications director. Although they divorced years ago, David still loves her and wants to do it. David and Julius somehow manage to escape the stampede and reach the White House. David calls Connie and urges her to be vigilant. Connie immediately introduces David to the President. David explains the aliens’ plan and explains that they have only 28 minutes to evacuate the city. Upon hearing this, the President leaps into action and immediately orders the evacuation of the entire city. The President also calls his wife, who has been trying to maintain peace in the city, and tells her to immediately evacuate. Meanwhile, we see the military attempting to welcome the alien ship as part of a mission called Welcome Wagon. The President, having now understood the aliens’ intentions, immediately orders the mission to be halted. But before they can recall the helicopters, the aliens suddenly emerge and attack and destroy them. After which, the President, without any fear of life, leaves the city, taking his daughter and a few other close associates with him. They head towards their plane, joined by David and his father Julian. Meanwhile, atop a tall building in the city’s Bishan Beach, some people are celebrating the arrival of aliens. They were thinking that aliens had come to Earth from a helicopter. But then, just then, the door of an alien ship opens, sending everyone’s heart racing. The next morning, the alien ship spews flames onto the building, burning it and everyone inside. The flames emanating from the alien ship rapidly spread throughout the city, burning the city to ashes. Jasmine, trapped in traffic with her child and dog, sees the floodwaters approaching and runs into a tunnel maintenance room. Meanwhile, the President’s plane also somehow manages to escape the flames. In this way, the aliens burn down the major cities of all countries at the same time, including London, New York, and Mumbai. Then the next morning, when the President is mourning the death of his fellow countrymen, he gets the news that his wife has also failed to evacuate them from the city. After that, as if the flame of anger flares up in the security forces of the country. A large team of American Air Force sets out to remind those aliens of their childhood. Captain Steve is leading this team. They fearlessly fire their missiles one after the other on the alien Shiv. However, the alien Shiv is attacked by a powerful invisible force which destroys the missiles before they hit Shiv. Seeing this, everyone is stunned. Then suddenly, many fighter planes of the aliens come out from Shiv and start attacking them. But Steve and his soldiers are not far behind and keep firing missiles on them continuously. But due to the presence of a force on the aliens’ fighter planes, they are unable to kill them, whereas the aliens’ fighter planes destroy all the fighter planes.
The aliens fall, but Steve still struggles to fight them. He sends a fighter plane spinning behind him like a top, but ultimately gets defeated. However, Steve refuses to give up and manages to crush the alien plane, even dodging it. He himself escapes with the help of an ejection seat. The aliens don’t stop there; they attack the base and kill all the soldiers. In this battle, the aliens also killed one of Steve’s best friends. To avenge this, a furious Steve stabs an alien in the crashed plane, knocks him unconscious, and drags him across the desert in a parachute. Meanwhile, the President, sitting in an airplane, is deeply saddened by the death of his soldiers. The Defense Minister advises him to launch a nuclear attack on the aliens. David arrives and expresses his displeasure at his advice, saying that a nuclear attack would render the Earth uninhabitable. Whether it makes a difference to the aliens or not, it will certainly spell the end of the entire human race. The Defense Minister and David begin to argue over this, which even the President is indignant at. Julius then arrives and defends his son, saying that David saved their lives today so they could all work together to drive the aliens away from Earth. Instead of saving the Earth, they are hell-bent on destroying it. Hearing this, all the ministers are left speechless. Julius taunts them, saying that the government made a foolish decision when an alien attack occurred in Roswell, Mexico, in 1950. They hid that information from the public, and even today, they are secretly hiding the alien in Area 51. If the government had warned people about the threat of aliens, they would have already found a way to protect them. Hearing this, the President laughs at Julius and tries to convince him that no such incident has happened before; all this news is being spread by the INLD.

Russell claims that he was kidnapped by aliens 10 years ago and since then he has become an alcoholic and was hell-bent on taking revenge on the aliens. He takes his children and his friends to escape. They had set out together in search of a safe place. They saw that Steve had defeated an alien, so he was pleased with Steve and took him along with him. While flying, Steve spotted the secret base of Area 51 a short distance away, which was not even on any map. He starts taking them all with him towards the base. Meanwhile, the President’s plane also lands at Area 51 base. They all go to Area 51’s secret research laboratory, located seven to 24 floors below, where scientists are researching the remains of the alien Shiva found in Ruswell. There, they meet Dr. Ock, the head of the research department. Ock shows them the unique Shiva that crashed in Ruswell 40 years ago. They have been trying to understand Shiva’s advanced technology since then, but have been unable to restart it. Ock has started working, which means that Shiva is getting power from the mothership. After explaining this, Ock shows everyone a glimpse of the aliens. Of the aliens present in the Shiv, two were killed in the crush, and the third died in the laboratory two weeks later. Ock explains that although these aliens are larger than humans, their bodies are even more fragile than humans, which is why they always live inside a strong biomechanical shell, making them difficult to kill. These aliens also see and hear like humans, but their most special feature is that they can communicate with each other without speaking through telepathy, i.e., the power of their minds. Ock further explains that these aliens feel heat and cold like humans and survive on oxygen. Earth’s atmosphere is perfectly suited for their living, which is why they want to take over Earth. Everyone is shocked to learn about the aliens’ abilities. Out of respect for President David, Sir Jim entrusts him with the task of understanding the aliens’ technology. Meanwhile, Steve, along with the others, takes the dying alien to Area 51, after which Dr. Ock and his team begin operating on him. Just as they are removing its biomechanical armor, the alien suddenly pounces, sending them into a fright. The alien opens its eyes and, seeing OK in front of it, attempts to enter its brain through telepathy. It wreaks havoc in the operating room and brutally murders all the doctors. However, because the room is locked, the alien cannot escape. Just then, the President and other security personnel arrive. They see that the alien has entered OK’s brain and begins speaking through its own tongue. It continuously demands to be freed. Seeing this, the President tries to negotiate a compromise. He says that if the aliens consult with humans, they can both live peacefully on Earth. However, the alien flatly refuses to consult. When the President asks what they want from humans, the alien tells the Big Maker that they want humans dead. Saying this, the alien now tries to enter the President’s brain. Seeing this, the security forces gun down the alien. Luckily, Jasmine is found safe and sound. The President’s wife is also present among the survivors, who are badly injured. Steve takes them all back to Area 51. Security forces then launch a nuclear attack. As they approach, the alien approaches Shiv and fires a nuclear missile at him, causing so much devastation that everything becomes blurred. Everyone was convinced that the nuclear missile had killed the alien. Alien Shiva must have been destroyed,

When his father arrives, he encourages him and tells him to go inside the room and rest so that he doesn’t catch a cold. Upon hearing the word “cold,” David’s mind lights up. He immediately gathers the President and all the security personnel near the alien Shiv and explains to them that they still have a way to defeat the aliens. That way, David has created a special computer virus. If he manages to insert it into the Mother Shiv, which is present in space, emitting the alien’s own signal, it will deactivate all the alien Shiv’s invisible pulses for 1 minute, after which they can destroy their Shiv with their missile. Upon hearing this, everyone asks David how he will inject the virus into the alien’s mothership. David, pointing to the alien Shiv present at Area 51, says that for this, they will use the alien Shiv. David needs a pilot who can fly the smaller alien Shiv and take David inside the mothership. Steve A. Gaya comes to assist David in this, and together they decide to execute this plan. Afterward, the President prepares the entire country’s security forces to attack the alien Shiv present in their country, but the US Air Force still lacks pilots, so they ask ordinary citizens with experience flying planes to join the fight. At the forefront is Russell, who is becoming impatient to avenge his abduction from the aliens. Not only this, the President himself joins him in this battle because he was also a former Air Force pilot. Similarly, his US Air Force team prepares for this mission, risking their lives. Steve marries Jasmine, and with this, the distance between David and Connie is now clouded by their closeness. Afterward, they begin their mission and fly into space with the alien Shiv. As they approach the mothership, the mothership automatically pulls them in, bringing them to a location where they see a large number of aliens preparing for war. Before that, David uploads his virus to the mothership and sends a signal to the Air Force to attack. After which, the Air Force launches a missile at the alien Shiv. Due to the mountain’s strength, the Shiv’s core has not yet been deactivated, rendering the missile useless. Seeing this, everyone is deeply disappointed. The General tells everyone to return, but the President, ignoring his advice, tries again. This time, the core has been deactivated, causing the missile to hit the alien Shiv. Seeing this, the aliens also retaliate by pointing their knives at the plane and the force, but this time, the collision occurs. The situation is even, and the Air Force begins to destroy the fighter planes. However, due to the large number of aliens, they have the upper hand. They begin attacking civilians and destroy most of the Air Force’s planes. However, while the President and some soldiers were still engaged in the war, the alien Shiv appears directly above Area 51 and opens its main gate to attack humans again. Seeing this, everyone is terrified because all the missiles on their fighter planes were exhausted. But then Rasal arrives with his plane. Everyone sees hope in Rasal. However, when Rasal is about to fire his missile at the alien Shiv, the missile jams in the plane itself. Seeing this, everyone’s hopes are dashed. Rasal was not one to believe everything. Rasal asks Chanel to tell his children that he loves them very much. After saying this, Rasal takes the plane and crashes it into the place where the alien Shiv landed. Rasal sacrifices himself to destroy one of the aliens, Shiv. Meanwhile, David and Steve fire a nuclear missile at the madrasa, leaving them with only 30 seconds to escape. They quickly flee the scene, evading the aliens, and at the last second, they manage to pull them out of Shiv. A powerful explosion rocks the madrasa, shattering Shiv’s wings. They return to Earth, proclaiming victory over the aliens. The President thanks Steve and David for their bravery. The entire world celebrates the defeat of the aliens, and the film ends with this.
