We will cover a wide range of medical topics from hypertension to skin cancers. The goal is to give the learner and better understanding of how these common conditions are diagnosed and the most common medications or therapies used to treat them. Medicine is a vast topic with upwards of twenty thousand diagnoses and treatments but this series will focus on the most common ones that we see everyday in a primary care clinic. These include high cholesterol, high blood pressure, high blood sugar, common skin lesion, common muscle and joint injuries, and common infections. While you will not be ready to open up a clinic after taking this course, the goal is that it will enable to you to better navigate the doctor's office for yourself and loved ones and give you the confidence to question why your doctor is treating something the way that he or she is.
