Carbon is an experimental language designed for the problem spaces where C++ is used today. This course will teach you some of the basics of the language, so you can try it to see if it might be useful for you when it's ready.

Carbon is a new language, with keywords and capabilities still being settled. In this course, Carbon Language: First Look, you'll learn about Carbon from an instructor who is one of the three leads of the Carbon project, so you can begin to evaluate it. First, you'll explore building the Carbon toolchain. Next, you'll discover enough syntax to write simple programs. Finally, you'll learn about the capabilities that are not yet implemented but are expected later in 2024. When you're finished with this course, you'll have the skills and knowledge of Carbon needed to decide whether it will be a good fit for your development work when it's complete.
